Accessible

Mikey’s Mission is a 501c3 Nonprofit working to make Mental Healthcare accessible to all.

What is Mikey’s Mission?

To Make Mental Health a topic of conversation while working to make mental healthcare accessible to ALL!

Mikey’s Mission is a 501c3 nonprofit that was created in honor of Michael Heyden. He believed that mental health care should be accessible to everyone and anyone regardless of their social and/or financial standing.

Our mission is to spread mental health awareness, make mental health a less taboo topic, normalize talking about mental health. We are driven to make mental healthcare accessible to all. We will do this through advocacy work and fundraising. Please join us!

Who is Mikey?

Michael Heyden (Mike or Mikey for those close to him) was a true advocate to anyone in need. He was especially passionate about access to mental health care and supporting those that needed it. He was typically found at a table listening as someone confided in him, truly a wise soul and compassionate human.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. A gentle soul who loved animals .

Mikey was a true wordsmith- those intellectual undercuts some times took a minute to hit ;) He was a very strong willed, and ambitious person. Being diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, he was faced with many external and physical blockers to achieving his dreams but he did not back down from a challenge. Due to facing these challenges he tried to make others feel seen and heard, leading him to pursue his masters degree in psychology for counseling. Mikey was a life long learner, he was worldly in his education and perspectives, always seeking more knowledge. With a special interest in helping those that were unserved or “ignored”. Mikey’s passion and drive will live on through Mikey’s Mission.

Please help us honor him while helping others.
